I had fun with this one. I've always thought the "skull critters" that I've seen popping up all over the place were kinda neat, but I never had a reason to draw one until now. ^^

Sooo... we got new neighbors in the apartment above ours. A single mom, a nine year old girl, and a nineteen year old girl.

I have never heard anyone as loud as these idiots in my entire life. At first we were very patient with them because they were just moving in and arranging furnature and what not. But no... they are just loud.

We hear them shouting at each other and arguing all the time. My god... the mom has the biggest mouth out of all of them, but the teenager isn't far behind. They often have men over who are just as loud as they are. The only one that we really don't hear is the nine year old.

Not only that... but they never seem to sleep! My husband would often come home from work at 4 in the morning and their lights would still be on and they'd still be walking around upstairs.

The teenager's room is above ours (we think)... because sometimes when Azarus and I are just laying in bed talking, we can often hear the bed squeaking whenever she has sex.

I am really surprised that the landlord (whos secretary lives in the apartment above theirs and can most likely hear them just as well as we can) hasn't said anything to them, yet... but pit's probably only a matter of time. Either way, I can say one thing for sure... if they keep it up then they won't like me or Azarus very much. >

On a better note...

I don't believe how much healthier I feel since I've moved here. Azarus and my eating habits are much healthier then they were back before we moved in together. We're both reaching for yougert, fruit and veggies before chips and cookies now. I've already lost five pounds. ^^

Azarus is working on his resume and is going to start handing it out on Thursday. He's really hoping to get that job at Costco, because it sounds perfect for him. We both know that he can't stay at the Casino for much longer. They changed their policy and now every jackpot under $1000 is being printed on a ticket. So there went about 95% of what he did there. Now he's bored to tears.

Neighbors aside... I'm still feeling very happy.

He's probably playing Rockband 2.
Or if it's on a computer he's probably playing TCG.

2. You're out to eat; what kind of salad dressing does he get?
Ceasar. All he ever seems to eat are ceasar salads.

3. What's one food he doesn't like?
Ronalds (McDonalds). He used to love it but now it just seems to attack him from the inside out.

4. You go out to eat and have a drink. What does he order?
Depends on the resturant. If it's Saint Huberts, then it's most likely a quarter chicken with fries. Anyplace else... a chicken Ceasar Salad.

5. Where did he go to high school?
I don't know the name of it... but I've seen it before. It's across the street from the IGA he usedto work at.

6. What size shoe does he wear?
8... Yes. he's a very petite male.

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be?
Swords, Star Wars toys, Small fantasy figurines, DVDs...

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
Smoked Meat with mustard. Heated up.

9. What would this person eat every day if he could?
Anything with St Hubert's Gravy. :p

He's not normally much for cereal since milk does bad things to his digestive system... but he does like Honey Nut Cheerios.

Bright flashy colors.

Anybody NOT the Montreal Canadiens.

He dosen't vote. Not even for Quebec/Canada elections.

Besides me... Max.

Good question.

French

Cheesecake. ^^

18. Did he play sports in high school?
No. He wanted to, but he has a knee condition that prevents him from doing a lot of physical activities.

19. What could he spend hours doing?
Cuddling and just talking in bed. In fact, we DO do that for hours.

20. What is one unique talent he has?
He has "goofy toes". His little toes don't touch the ground. Instead, they hitch a ride on the second smallest toe and he can move his little toes independantly from the rest of his toes.

Painter X

I found a copy of Painter X in an online store for cheap. I mean REALLY cheap. I've always wanted to learn how to use that program because I know that it has the potential to make some really awesome artwork so of course I jumped on the oppertunity.

So... now I have the program and it's taking me forever to learn how to use it. There's so many tools and brushes that I don't know where to start. LOL. Even learning Photoshop wasn't this difficult.

I've tried looking for tutorials on this program, but I haven't found anything that really helps me.
If anyone knows of any good tutorials or books on painter, let me know. :)

Ulario - Art License Badge!

A few years back I used to do license style badges like this after seeing a few other people do them. I had a hard time paying for something I could do myself... so naturally I started doing them myself.

I haven't touched this style of badge in a long time, so I tried to give it another shot. They were fun to do.

I have a badge like this for all three of my alternate fursonas in the works. May open up commissions for them in the future.

Transformers 2 + Fursuit for my husband!?

So, Azarus and I went to see the new Transformers movie today and we were both very dissapointed and bored to tears during most of it.

We both loved the first TF movie... but I really think in this one, they tried too hard. I'm not going to spoil anything for those of you who haven't seen it, yet... but lets just say that I was going WTF a lot of the time...

The robot girl who looked like something out of a terminator movie... what the bloody hell?
And the twin robots who were there for comedy relief were very annoying. No only that... but they looked like deficient looking robotic gremlins.

And the ancient grandpa robot... why the hell was he a modern machine like a blackbird jet?! Shouldn't he have been a more outdated machine like the wright brother's plane or the model T that they showed a picture of. >:(

On a less bitchy note...

Azarus really surprised me today when he said he wanted a fursuit. For the record, my husband is not a furry... but he is very supportive of me being one.

He wants a costume of the frog from the Chrono Trigger games.

So yah... after I'm done with my Ran-Qui fursuit I'll probably be starting on the frog. :)

Well, things are still going well for me. Azarus and I are nearly settled in our new place (pics coming soon), he's currently looking for a new job, and we've started the process to get us both dual citizenships. Things are good... and for once in my life I'm happy. ^^

Lots of new arts coming soon. Az is still working nights at the Casino for the time being so I have plenty of time to draw some personal art. There's a few character sheets that I want to get done... plus I really want to finish my Theran gods series. I'm also working on a few commissions. I started sketching the last three pages of stirrings... plus there's a possibility of another transformation comic commission from NewEnglander in the near future. And I'm planning on posting a few commission auctions on Furbid and Furbuy in the next few days. :)

And oh yes... I've begun plannings and preperations for my second fursuit. I'm going with my Amaran character, Ran-Qui. I commissioned the foam head from Darzi... but I'll be doing all the head furring and what not myself to make sure everything looks the way I want it to. :)

When she's done, the fursuit will include full jedi robes... and of course... her dual green lightsabers. I'm very tempted to have her pet tooke included in the costume as well.

But yah. Pictures of the completed foam head.

I Am Sith - Cameron Concept Art

A quickie. Done in about an hour and a half from sketch to color.

My alternate fursona, Ran-Qui the Amaran jedi has a twin sister that turned Sith shortly after the Mandalorian Wars. I've had her sister's design in my head and wanted to get her down on paper.

Like Ran-Qui, Cameron is an Amaran... a race of vulpine aliens in the Star Wars universe. With her lightsaber, I didn't want to go with the cliche sith red. I got inspiration for her lightsaber from watching my husband play Force Unleashed. It's a polearm lightsaber... like the one Kazdan Paratus used... with a black crystal. 'Cuz the blac saber in that game just pwned.

Someday I'd like to draw a battle scene between Ran-Qui and Cameron.

Andromeda - Finished Concept Art

Forty years after the death of Ulario, the defeat of the dark god, and the fall of the verin empire, The Theran species have earned their rightful place among the stars with the Azura't'oris Alliance.

For over a decade, Andromeda served as a royal guard to the first Theran Senator, but when Risight Mur, the head of the guard betrays the alliance and orders the murder of the Senator.

Loyal to the last, Andromeda refuses to carry out these orders. Risight frames her for the senator's attempted murder and she is labeled a traitor to Thera and the alliance.

Outcasted from the very alliance she swore to protect, Andromeda must find her place in the Azura't'oris universe.

I've been doing some work on the "next generation" part of the Azura't'oris universe, obviously. And for that, I needed a hero for that part of the timeline... an alternate fursona if you will.

Andromeda (Andy for short) is a Theran Gryphon. She is isn't even born until around 10 years after Ulario's death. She is a warrior, still loyal to the alliance that turned it's back on her.

Meh. I wanted to give her a more original name for her... but I couldn't get "Andromeda" out of my head. She is named for the galaxy rather then the figure from Greek Mythology so it fit her very well. Much more then an original name could I think.

I spent a lot of time designing the physical appearance of this character so no stealies! Keep your sticky fingers to yourselves, please.

I hope to have a character sheet for her eventually. I'm busy with commissions ATM, but since I am planning on using her as an alternate fursona, she will have one.

Azarus and I finally have internets at our apartment. Though I haven't hooked up the wireless router, yet... so I can't access it VIA my laptop for the time being.

Things are going well. Though I'm completely exhausted from the unpacking, moving things, and running all around town.

I have new arts to upload. I'll try to hook up my external hard drive so I can get those up as soon as I can.

It feels good to be able to check my email and what not regularly now...

But for now... I need a nap. :)

At last! I have time to update my journal.

My move to Canada is going well... after a nearly disasterous run in with a bitch who worked at the Canadian immigration office in Sarnia my first day here. We've been spending the last week and a half unpacking, setting up the apartment, running around buying things for the apartment, etc, etc.

Our place is looking very nice so far. I'll try to have pictures of the place up soon.

We still don't have internet service at our place, so I still have to rely on going to my inlaw's house to answer my emails... so commissions are still closed until my access to the internet is a little more reliable.

I'll update my journal when I can... and try to work on a little art in the meantime while Azarus is at work.

So, as most of you know, I got married yesterday. From this day forward my artwork will be signed Traci "Ulario" Vermeesch-Vezina.

I have a few pictures that were taken by my friend's dad that I can post now. But the professionally taken pictures won't be available for two weeks, so you'll have to wait to see those. :)

On a side note. I'll be moving my stuff to Quebec on Monday and I don't know how long I will be without the internet. Hopefully we'll get it up and running by the end of the week. I should be able to check my email and such at my inlaw's house... but I'll be slower to respond. Needless to say commission queue will be closed until the internet in my apartment is up.

Sand Trap - Commission

Rosaline is a were-mouse from the days of yore. During her transformation she is about six inches tall but has the super strength of a full-sized lycanthrope. She is normally more based on a field mouse, but a sorcerer's magick has transported her deep in a desert adjacent to her homeland. Her transformation adapted to her desert surroundings and transformed her into a kangaroo rat.

This is a picture that goes along with a possible comic commission I may do in the future. ^^

I had a lot of fun with this one.

Motor City Comic Con 09 - Day 2... With moar Pictures

Day 2 of the comic was fun. For the hell of it I decided to wear my gryphon costume since not too many people wear their fursuits to this con.

For shits and giggles I took some pictures of myself with the Rancor at the 501st booth again.

AGH! He's got me!

And Azarus got to meet John Schneider. Since he was a big Dukes of Hazard and Smallville fan, he was super excited. :)

And every convention I try to have at least one picture of my characters commissioned. This year I commissioned a picture of my Amaran character, Ran-Qui by the talented Sue VanCamp. :)

Comic con was fun. Like every convention I attend, I'm sad to see it end. But part of me is happy... because if it didn't end, I'd be broke. :p
